Brick & Stone Repointing
When you consider the durability of brick or stone, they’re thought of as long-term materials — unlike other forms of building that use products which age and weather poorly.
Most people assume that buying a home built of stone, brick, or block means a maintenance-free exterior. And compared to the alternatives — painted or stained wood that needs regular repainting, or siding that fades and fractures — masonry walls and chimneys are reasonably upkeep-free.
But mortar joints don’t last forever. As they deteriorate, water finds its way in, and small problems become structural ones. Repointing at the right time protects the wall — and everything behind it.
When it's time to repoint or repair
Choosing the right masonry contractor is difficult, particularly if you don’t know much about brickwork. You should research and find a contractor who does good work and is reasonably priced — but above all, make sure you see their work in person.
One of the first things to consider is whether the project matches the scope of the contractor’s ability. We have years of experience repairing, repointing, and replacing brick, stucco, and concrete in the Philadelphia area, and we bring that experience to your project. We’ll gladly review the work and give you the best, most economical options available.
